The Pollinator No Added Preservatives Shiraz 2022

A vibrant and fresh unoaked lively Shiraz. Plum and red berry fruit aromas entice on the nose and the palate delivers a vibrant mouthfeel, balanced with integrated tannins on the finish. All natural, all organic and no added preservatives.

Thomas Block is located at the bottom of the McLaren Valley (approx 75-80m) on deep alluvial soils is one of the coolest sites in the McLaren Vale Region. The site is flat ground and bordered by ancient River Red Gums. The single cordon trellis is hand spur pruned. Shoot, bunch and leaf thinning is employed when required and Viticulture practices are fully certified organic and biodynamic.

The grapes were picked at optimum sugar and flavour equilibrium. They were tipped into open top fermenters and gently hand plunged for 14 days, extracting the vibrant characteristics of the vineyard. When primary fermentation was complete, we pressed to tank for secondary fermentation before bottling.

When primary fermentation was complete, we pressed to stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation and brief ageing before bottling nice and early to preserve as much freshness as possible.
