Cracker Barrels Shiraz Cabernet 2021

A lively violet purple with mahogany hues. A multilayered aroma that shows real elegance and finesse. Lovely blackberries and cherry give pure fruit expression and combine perfectly with a bright cinnamon lift. Extremely balanced mouthfeel that shows the versatility of what Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon can do when combined. Black pepper and dried herbs appear immediately but are combined with a vibrant juicy mid palate. Polished, delicate tannin structure that has a luxurious elegant finish with subtle French Oak.

This is our final blend each year. When tasting through the barrels, we always find individual barrels that stand out, whether it be a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Jones Block Shiraz or even an EJ barrel. In 2021 the blend worked as a Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon and we ended up with 2 Cracker Barrels!

Ageing exclusively in one and two year old French oak barriques. Extensive tasting of all the single vineyard barrels eight months after harvest singles out a few outstanding performers which are then aged for another 10 months before bottling in the second Spring after harvest.
