Description
De Bortoli launched the 17 Trees program in 2008, planting 17 trees for each company vehicle to offset their carbon emissions. This sustainability project blossomed into a brand, with 1 tree planted for every 6 bottles sold. To date, over 66,000 trees have been planted. The wine is light to medium straw in colour with a nose that offers complex white peach, grilled nuts & citrus aromas. The palate is textural and creamy with a fine, dry finish.

Viticulture
Another dry winter followed by late spring rains enabled vines to produce a healthy crop of fruit. A hot summer brought Vintage on in a hurry kicking off on 21st of January. With crops slightly below average and no disease quality is above average.
Vinification
Fruit is harvested at night, pressed and left to settle until the next day. Some of the juice is pressed straight to barrel for a natural ferment. Warm fermentation & extended lees contact help give a wine full of flavour and texture. No preservatives such as SO2 are added until bottling. 20% of wine has gone through MLF naturally in barrel. 80% of the blend is fermented in old French oak barriques & Hogs Heads. Wine is then left in barrel to mature on yeast lees for 12 months with minimal stirring.
Maturation
