Black Tip Mourvedre 2020

An extraordinary bouquet of rich black plums and cherries complemented by an earthy, forest floor character and sweet spice. On the palate the wine has bright acidity, ripe tannins, subtle oak and a rich, savoury and slightly chocolatey appeal. A full-bodied and complex wine.

The grapes are from Kasteelsig vineyard, owned by Billy (Guillermo) Hughes, and are organically certified. Soil is red Glenrosa with some Oakleaf – shale-rich duplex soils. The vineyards are not irrigated.

Malolactic conversion and maturation took place in small French oak barrels (30% new) for 8 months.
