Willowglen Gewurztraminer Riesling 2022

Tropical notes are intense in this blend that shows the sweet, white, soft pulp of the lychee as well as the delicate notes of rose water. Generous palate balanced by the citrus line of the Riesling.

Traminer blocks are selected on their lifted spicy musk and rose petal flavours to combine with the floral and citrus flavour offerings of the selected Rieslings

Good rains during winter and early spring allowed for good fruitfulness and healthy vines at the beginning of the growing season. A cooler than usual ripening period enabled good varietal flavours. Rain during late spring and summer increased the disease pressure but with good viticultural practices and selective harvesting we were able to begin vintage albeit about 2 weeks later than what has become the norm in recent times.

A specialised yeast strain isolated by Institut Oenologique de Champagne is employed to highlight the varietal characteristics of the Traminer. Completed a healthy 10-14 day ferment in stainless steel.
